Why Trust Cats.com

As the caretaker of two senior cats, I’m always on the lookout for cat food brands that cater to specialized needs. Tiki Cat Solutions piqued my interest with its targeted recipes and unique products like liquid meal replacements.

Before testing Tiki Cat Solutions for myself, I spent some time researching the product line to learn more about the formulas and the science behind them. When it came time to review the brand, I paired this newfound knowledge with my own observations and comments from other customers to form a holistic impression of the Solutions product line.

Tiki Cat sent me a sample of every product from the Solutions line for me to test and review. During the testing process, I objectively evaluated the products on their nutritional merits while my cats offered their opinions on subjective metrics like taste, texture, and overall appeal.

About Tiki Cat Solutions

Solutions is the latest product line offered by the popular Tiki Cat pet food brand. When it was originally launched in 2005, Tiki Cat was part of the Petropics family—a pet food company founded by Christine and Robert Hackett. Petropics merged with Cloud Star to form Whitebridge Pet Brands in 2015 which was later acquired by General Mills in a deal set to close in late 2025.

Early in its history, Tiki Cat earned a positive reputation among pet parents for its carnivore-inspired recipes. Compared to other premium brands at the time, Tiki Cat stood out for its refusal to rely on grains and carb-heavy formulas.

The Solutions line is the latest stage of Tiki Cat’s evolution, offering prey-inspired dietary solutions for cats with specific needs. Like other Tiki Cat product lines, Solutions primarily features chicken- and fish-based formulas with an emphasis on healthy fats and hydrating moisture over carbs, by-products, and unnecessary additives.

Sourcing and Manufacturing

All Tiki Cat wet foods are manufactured in Thailand in facilities that meet international standards for human food production. The chicken and fish in Tiki Cat Solutions wet food is sourced from Thailand as well, including from fisheries that belong to the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF) and are certified by the International Dolphin Conservation Program.

Tiki Cat Solutions dry foods are made in the United States in pet food manufacturing facilities owned by Whitebridge Pet Brands in Chesterfield, Missouri. Ingredients for Tiki Cat kibble come from suppliers near the manufacturer when possible, though the brand doesn’t provide specific details.

All Tiki Cat Solutions wet foods are packaged in pouches and the kibble comes in resealable bags. The kibble is baked, not extruded, in a process the brand claims “locks in flavor.”

Recall History

Since its founding twenty years ago, no Tiki Cat product line has been involved in a recall. The Solutions line itself is very new but is manufactured in the same facilities, to the same standards of quality as other Tiki Cat pet foods.

What Kinds of Cat Food Does Tiki Cat Solutions Offer?

The Tiki Cat brand describes Solutions as a “full line of functional nutrition with choices” ranging from crunchy baked kibble to smooth mousse and tasty toppers. This line includes a mix of eight specialized-support formulations to support key aspects of feline health including digestion, mobility, dental health, mineral balance, skin and coat, and healthy weight maintenance.

Here’s a list of Tiki Cat Solutions recipes currently available:

  • Mineral Balance Tuna & Salmon Recipe Mousse
  • Mineral Balance Chicken Recipe Baked Kibble
  • Skin+Coat Salmon Recipe in Broth Mousse
  • Skin+Coat Salmon & Herring Recipe Baked Kibble
  • Dental Chicken Recipe in Broth Mousse
  • Dental Chicken Recipe Baked Kibble
  • Mobility Chicken & Tuna Recipe in Broth Mousse
  • Mobility Chicken & Turkey Recipe Baked Kibble
  • Digestion Chicken & Egg Recipe in Broth Mousse
  • Digestion Lamb & Egg Recipe Baked Kibble
  • Light Chicken, Turkey & Pumpkin Recipe in Broth Mousse
  • Light Turkey Recipe Baked Kibble
  • Fussy with Duck Liver & Egg Recipe in Broth Mousse

The Solutions line also includes several wet food toppers and one liquid meal replacer. Most wet cat food products from Tiki Cat Solutions feature chicken or fish as the main ingredient, though some recipes include supplemental proteins like duck liver and dried egg. All the wet foods come in a silky, moisture-rich mousse. The formulas are low in carbs, rich in omega-3s, and free from artificial additives.

Tiki Cat Solutions baked kibble formulas are also primarily chicken- or fish-based, with the exception of the Digestion Lamb & Egg Recipe. Because the kibble is shaped and baked, not extruded, it has a slightly different shape than standard kibble. The pieces are still small and rounded, except the Dental Chicken Recipe which features triangular kibbles to encourage chewing.

What Did Our Test Cats Think?

TikiCatSolutions cat test

Kate Barrington / Cats.com

Tiki Cat sent me a sample of every product from the Solutions line so I could test them to write this review. As always, my cats were happy to lend me a paw in the process.

My first impression of the Tiki Cat Solutions line was very positive. I was particularly glad to see that all the wet foods had a smooth, moisture-heavy texture—my cats, Munchkin and Biscuit, tend not to like shredded or chunky recipes, which is a lot of what Tiki Cat has to offer. I was also surprised to see a kibble recipe that wasn’t fish- or chicken-based.

Overall, my cats seemed to like every recipe they tried. They weren’t as enthusiastic about sampling the food as they sometimes are, but it might just be because they’re already pretty familiar with Tiki Cat.

#1 Tiki Cat Solutions Mousse Dental Chicken Recipe in Broth Wet Cat Food

Tiki Cat Solutions Mousse Dental Chicken Recipe in Broth Wet Cat Food

With its smooth texture, this Tiki Cat Solutions mousse is a great option for cats with dental issues who have trouble chewing. It also contains breath freshening ingredients like parsley and peppermint. It comes in 2.4-ounce pouches with about 70 calories per pouch, making it a relatively calorie-dense option.

Featuring chicken and dried egg product as the main ingredients (after chicken broth), this recipe contains over 55% protein measured as dry matter. It’s rich in healthy fats as well, though we’d prefer to see the tuna oil prioritized over a plant-sourced fat like sunflower oil.

Overall, this is a protein-packed, high-moisture wet cat food with low carbohydrate content. My cats enjoyed the flavor and I liked that it was smooth enough to pour right from the pouch. The amount in the pouch was the perfect volume to split between my two cats as a snack.

#2 Tiki Cat Solutions Digestion Lamb & Egg Dry Cat Food

Tiki Cat Solutions Digestion Lamb & Egg Dry Cat Food

One of six dry food recipes in the Tiki Cat Solutions lineup, this Digestion Lamb & Egg recipe is the only one that doesn’t feature chicken or fish as the primary ingredient. It still contains herring meal but it could be a good option for cats who don’t like chicken. My cats are partial to lamb, so they heartily enjoyed this kibble.

Measured as dry matter, this kibble contains over 44% protein and 20% fat. It still contains over 10% carbohydrate but it’s a much lower carb option than the average dry cat food. The downside is that it contains peas (which can be difficult for some cats to digest) rather than nutrient-rich whole grains. It does, however, contain supplemental fiber and probiotics to help support healthy digestion.

Because it’s baked rather than extruded, this kibble has a slightly different appearance and texture than many dry foods. The kibbles are still small and rounded but they’re a little more chewy than crunchy.

Ingredients

#3 Tiki Cat Solutions Liquid Meal Replacer Tuna in Goat’s Milk Wet Cat Food

Tiki Cat Solutions Liquid Meal Replacer Tuna in Goat’s Milk Wet Cat Food

Formulated specifically for cats who won’t (or can’t) eat solid food, this liquid meal replacer has a lickable texture. It’s smooth but not watery and comes in a resealable pouch, to help minimize waste. With the twist off cap, you simply open it and pour it right into your cat’s bowl.

This liquid meal replacer features tuna as the primary source of protein with plenty of hydrating moisture from tuna broth and goat milk. Sunflower oil is the main source of added fat, though tuna oil does appear later on the list as an animal-based source of omega-3 fatty acids.

Overall, this product seems like a great option for senior cats or any cat who could use a protein or calorie boost. It’s not as calorie-dense as the mousses in Tiki Cat’s Solutions line at just 20 calories per ounce, but it’s nutritionally complete—not just a meal topper.

Ingredients

Tuna Broth, Goat Milk, Tuna, Sunflower Oil, Natural Tuna Flavor, Natural Chicken Flavor, Tricalcium Phosphate, Xanthan Gum, Taurine, Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Sulfate, Choline Chloride, Tuna Oil, Ferrous Sulfate, L-Tryptophan, Chamomile Extract, Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin (Vitamin B3), Zinc Oxide, Vitamin A Supplement, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex (Source Of Vitamin K Activity), Manganous Oxide, Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin Supplement (Vitamin B2), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Folic Acid, Potassium Iodide, Vitamin D3 Supplement.

What Do Customers Think of Tiki Cat Solutions?

The Solutions line from Tiki Cat is still fairly new but the brand has a very positive reputation overall. Many pet parents appreciate the simple, protein-rich recipes and the low-carbohydrate formulas.

Here are some positive and negative reviews for products in the Tiki Cat Solutions line.

Positive Reviews

“I have a cat that constantly grooms so I thought I’d try this with her. She loved this food! She dove right in and almost did not eat her wet food because she was too busy enjoying this! The kibbles seem a bit softer and more moist than most kibbles, and this is probably one reason she likes it so much.” – Skippymom reviewing Tiki Cat Solutions Skin+Coat Kibble on Chewy, June 11, 2025

“My senior cat is a picky eater and only eats dry food… Surprisingly she ate this right up! I’m so happy to find a food she enjoys with good ingredients. The product was also larger than expected and the screw cap makes it convenient to save the leftovers!” – KayCee reviewing Tiki Cat Solutions Liquid Meal Replacement on Chewy, June 19, 2025

Negative Reviews

“I tried this with my young cat struggling with abnormal dental disease as a second line of defense along with veterinary care. Unfortunately this food really upset his stomach. I slowly introduced this into his food, but even then his stomach was extremely upset. I couldn’t even finish the pack due to his horrible diarrhea and gas.” – Jessie reviewing Tiki Cat Solutions Dental Mousse on Chewy, June 20, 2025

“I mixed it with another dry food and for most of that day my two cats enjoyed it. However, the next day they didn’t seem that interested or excited by it. My two cats loved it at first, but they are picky eaters. I would still recommend Tiki Cat Solutions because it is a healthy quality food for your feline friends.” – WinstonSammi reviewing Tiki Cat Solutions Digestion Baked Kibble on Chewy, June 9, 2025

How Much Does Tiki Cat Solutions Cat Food Cost?

Like other Tiki Cat product lines, Solutions carries a premium price tag. The wet cat foods only come in 2.4-ounce pouches and are sold in cases of 12 at around $0.79 per ounce. Tiki Cat Solutions wet food toppers cost closer to $0.90 per ounce.

The price of Tiki Cat Solutions dry food varies depending on the recipe, ranging from about $7.25 to nearly $9 per pound (about $0.45-$0.56 per ounce). This puts Tiki Cat Solutions kibble in a similar price range to the Born Carnivore line of dry foods.

The estimated daily cost to feed a 10-pound cat Tiki Cat Solutions is about $5.60 per day for wet food and between $0.80 and $1.10 for dry food.

Where Is Tiki Cat Solutions Cat Food Sold?

While Tiki Cat pet foods are widely sold, the Solutions line may have limited in-store availability in some areas. Tiki Cat doesn’t sell its products directly but you can use the Store Locator on the brand’s website to find a retailer near you. Unfortunately, you can’t narrow your search to a particular product line.

If you’re shopping online, you can find Tiki Cat Solutions on major pet retail platforms like Chewy and Amazon as well as national retail chain websites like Petco and PetSmart. Many independent and specialty pet retailers carry Tiki Cat but you may need to check your store’s website or contact them directly to see if they carry Tiki Cat Solutions.

Overall, Is Tiki Cat Solutions Cat Food a Good Choice?

As is true for other Tiki Cat product lines, Tiki Cat Solutions is pretty pricey. With chicken and fish as the primary protein sources, the caloric density of most Tiki Cat recipes is fairly low which may mean feeding your cat more to meet their needs. That being said, Solutions mousse-style foods seem to be a little more energy-dense than Tiki Cat’s shredded recipes.

However, if you’ve got a cat who struggles with minor skin, coat, or digestive issues (and you’re not ready to make the jump to a prescription diet), the Tiki Cat Solutions line could be worth a try. This brand could also be a good fit for senior cats, given the lickable texture of the wet foods and the inclusion of a recipe specifically designed to promote healthy mineral balance.
